Principal of Nihongo Online School
In September 2019, he founded "Nihongo Online School". Since then, has been teaching Japanese online lessons, with a total of over 1,000 students.
He has designed an individualized curriculum based on student’s needs and study goal. And is conscious of making the classes speech-centered in order to improve students’ speaking skills.
The school asks students to submit homework assignments worth 2 hours per lesson to improve faster. By supporting students with these features, students are able to efficiently improve Japanese language skills.
Q1.Could you tell us what inspired you to start learning Japanese? Also, what challenges did you face in studying Japanese before joining Nihongo Online School?
日本語をどうして勉強しようと思いましたか?また、これまでの日本語学習における悩みについ て教えてください。
I started studying Japanese because I am planning to study in Japan in the future and possibly build a career in the IT field there. I am also interested in Japanese culture and daily life.
Before joining Nihongo Online School, I studied mostly on my own. My main challenges were the lack of structure and consistency. It was difficult to understand how to progress efficiently, and I did not have enough speaking practice. I also found it hard to stay motivated without clear guidance.
Q2. There are many online Japanese schools available. What made you decide to study with Nihongo Online School?

I chose Nihongo Online School because of the flexibility of scheduling lessons and the opportunity to have regular one-on-one sessions with a teacher. Compared to other online schools, your program seemed more focused on both practical communication and steady progress.
Q3.Could you share your experience with our online lessons? For example, how do you feel about the lessons, your interactions with teachers, the learning materials, and the overall lesson flow?

The lessons with Ogawa-sensei are well balanced. Each lesson usually includes both conversation practice on various topics and reading exercises, such as news articles and kanji practice at different levels. This combination has helped me improve both my speaking and reading skills. Over the past three months, I feel that I have made significant progress, and it would have taken me much longer to achieve similar results through self-study.
