Principal of Nihongo Online School
In September 2019, he founded "Nihongo Online School". Since then, has been teaching Japanese online lessons, with a total of over 1,000 students.
He has designed an individualized curriculum based on student’s needs and study goal. And is conscious of making the classes speech-centered in order to improve students’ speaking skills.
The school asks students to submit homework assignments worth 2 hours per lesson to improve faster. By supporting students with these features, students are able to efficiently improve Japanese language skills.
Q1.Could you tell us what inspired you to start learning Japanese? Also, what challenges did you face in studying Japanese before joining Nihongo Online School?
日本語をどうして勉強しようと思いましたか?また、これまでの日本語学習における悩みについ て教えてください。
Besides one introductory course to Japanese while in university, I haven’t studied it formally. I was able to pick up Japanese while I lived there for a couple of years, and have continued to self-study Japanese leisurely. However, I felt that I wasn’t progressing much, especially in the area of grammar. This year, I decided to try and take the N3 JLPT exam in December, and that’s when I came across Nihongo Online School.
Q2. There are many online Japanese schools available. What made you decide to study with Nihongo Online School?

I have responsibilities other than wanting to study Japanese, so the online classes and the schedule flexibility were big deciding factors for me. Additionally, there was a clear outline of what I could expect for my classes in terms of class content and structure.
Q3.Could you share your experience with our online lessons? For example, how do you feel about the lessons, your interactions with teachers, the learning materials, and the overall lesson flow?

Nihongo Online School uses a textbook as the backbone for their lessons, which makes it extremely easy to follow along. The 1-on-1 classes mean that I can ask my questions easily and I have been able to clear any doubts I’ve had about vocabulary or grammar quickly during all my lessons. There is also a certain amount of versatility, for example, I sometimes write short paragraphs in Japanese before my classes, and my teacher, Reiko Sensei, is always willing to listen and correct them as needed.
I’m so glad that I found Nihongo Online School as it has not only allowed me to learn and practise more Japanese but also has made me more confident and optimistic about my Japanese-learning experience. Thank you Nihongo Online School and Reiko Sensei!!
